For each of these photos, a consistent problem I ran into was focusing the camera, and adjusting the light. Out of about 60 photos, probably 10 were clear. I realized after a little that shutter speed was playing a role in this, so after I made the speed quicker it helped the problem. I also zoomed out on the bigger lens, and instead of playing with the smaller dial, I moved myself closer to the subject. The second problem i faced was light, and constantly getting the notification that the "subject is too dark". I did three things to fix this, number one being switching/making sure the camera was on manual, opening up the aperture, and turning up the iso when I had not realized i wasn't on manual. One thing I found that came easy was deciding where the light should be, it didn't take much trial and error to figure out what looked the best. I think a lot of it was using the environment and deciding which places in the squash courts looked best, hence the shots on the...

Light Painting & Slow Shutter

Image
Light painting best images I thought it was cool how my face was lit up, and that i was in two different spots. The light paainting was a nice touch aswell. We used a longer shutter-speed, and opened up the aperture a bit to let some light in. I liked the symmetry aspect of this one, and the contrast from the light to dark side of the photo. We opened and closed a curtain for this one, to let some light shine on one side fo the photo. The shutter-speed was not that long. I thought the colors in this were cool, and how Abbys hair kind of absorbed the color as-well. I also thing that the photo being dark adds a lot to it. We had someone else doing the light panting around Abby, and shutter-speed was about 20 to give us time to light paint. I like the silhouette in this photo, and how bright the light painting was because it enhances the darkness of the person and room. We had someone light pain with a flashlight behind the flag, and had a very long shutter-speed to give us time. I t...

 2. My favorite thing to do during my free time is to shop, because I love clothes and dressing up. 3. So far I have taken 2 photo classes at tabor (Photo 1 & Photo 2). I've used a camera to take landscape photos, make video art, and explore different aspects of photography. 4. I've been most interested in landscape photography specifically on the water, I also have enjoyed playing around with shadows and light in photos. 5. A photographer or artist i've been interested in is Capeology on instagram. They post a lot of nice landscape photos of the cape, and i've always spent my summers in Chatham so its nice to see familiar places. 6. I hope to continue to learn about all of the aspects that go into a good photo, and learn about editing and try snapshot photography. 7. There is a difference between snapshot and art photography, and it is that a snapshot photograph captures a moment in time and it candid with usually no deeper meaning. Where as art photography has mor...
